A new suite of environmental installations designed by C&G Partners for GE’s Tax and Energy Financial Services occupies prominent locations throughout a new headquarters building in Stamford, Connecticut. The new facility is a multipurpose meeting center used by all GE divisions.

Jonathan moderating “Museumless” at Creating Exhibitions

At the Mid-Atlantic Association of Museums “Creating Exhibitions” annual symposium on Monday, Partner Jonathan Alger will host a panel discussion called “Museumless.” The session will explore the expansion of museum-type exhibits beyond the traditional walls of the museum to surprising new venues, with unexpected benefits. Good Housekeeping on Nightline

Yankee Stadium in the New Yorker

C&G Partners is working on the signage, architectural graphics and exhibits at the new Yankee Stadium, which opens to the public next month. Although the project is still officially under wraps until the public opening, images of the work in progress have been appearing in various places (see previous post) for a few months and in the Yankees official online photo galleries. Last week, this image of the exterior facade of the new stadium appeared in the New Yorker, in an article by Paul Goldberger. The architectural graphics shown in the image were designed by the firm.

Fresh Press: Erie in SEGDdesign

The outdoor exhibition/signage installation designed by C&G Partners at the Erie Commercial Slip appear in the current issue of SEGDdesign, the magazine of the Society for Environmental Graphic Design. The three-page article introduces the idea that “a new breed of interpretive graphics is bringing sophisticated museum exhibition design to the great outdoors”.

Fresh Project: Jacksonville Fed

As part of the firm’s ongoing relationship with the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, we have just completed the installation of new exhibits in the Jacksonville branch. This supersize $100k bill (now you know which President is featured on that rare denomination) greets visitors to the Bank’s main public space. Other exhibits in Jacksonville’s facilities are modular variations on the original installation we designed at the Atlanta Fed’s main headquarters in Atlanta.

Fresh Award: Erie wins ASLA/NY

C&G Partners has just learned that the Erie Canal Harbor project, led by partner Keith Helmetag, has just won a 2008 Honor Award from the NY Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA), under the category of collaborative design. The award will be presented in New York City in December. Award winners will be posted to the ASLA/NY website in the next few weeks.

Fresh Project: FDIC

Opening to the public on Tuesday, November 18th, this interactive exhibit designed by C&G Partners celebrates the 75th anniversary of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), the independent deposit insurance agency created by Congress in 1933 to maintain stability and public confidence in the nation’s banking system. The exhibition, open to the public on 17th Street in Washington, DC, a block from the White House, steps through the history of the institution, the forces that steered its evolution, and its mission to protect the financial well-being of all Americans. Originally planned to be a year of retrospective celebration, the anniversary year actually fell during one of the most hard-hitting financial crises of modern times.
