McNay Art Museum
Expansion
As part of its 50th anniversary celebration, this famous San Antonio museum embarked on an ambitious expansion and renovation program. The original structure, an ornate 19th-Century Spanish-Revival mansion in, was expanded with a new wing designed by visionary French architect Jean-Paul Viguiers to host major temporary exhibits. While C&G Partners was initially engaged to plan and design an exterior and interior sign and donor program for the new expansion, these services were expanded to include a new institutional identity and graphic system, creating a unique balance between state-of-the-art architecture, environmental graphics, wayfinding, and a comprehensive visual language.
