CD-ROM Packaging

This IBM Multimedia product, a packaging system for CD-ROMs, contains hundreds of images and documents that interpret and examine Columbus’ discovery of the Americas. How to communicate the richness of the contents on a box? The design utilized found letterforms in historical maps and images relating to the journeys, bringing the disparate chronicles and viewpoints of Columbus’ legacy together, a metaphor for the explorer’s impact on today’s world.
