Managing Partner

Jonathan Alger is Managing Partner and Co-founder of C&G Partners.

A multi-specialist designer and practicing design leader, he brings more than 25 years of experience creating exhibitions, interactive public environments, brands, and digital platforms, with a particular focus on cultural and civic spaces. He is a dedicated advocate of strategic thinking and the thoughtful use of technology to shape meaningful public experiences.

He is also the host and author of Making the Museum, a podcast and newsletter exploring the future of cultural experience and interpretation.

Jonathan has led projects for a wide range of clients, including the Boston Public Library, Bronx Zoo, Cornell University, Federal Reserve, Gates Foundation, Holocaust Museum, Japanese American National Museum, Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Library of Congress, NASA, National Archives, National Museum of American History, National Museum of the American Indian, New-York Historical, Princeton University, Rockefeller University, Smithsonian, and the U.S. Department of State, as well as corporate and media organizations such as American Express, JPMorgan, MasterCard, NASDAQ, New York Stock Exchange, Sports Illustrated, and TIAA-CREF.

A frequent public speaker, Jonathan has been honored by the American Institute of Graphic Arts, American Association of Museums, American Association of State and Local History, Anthem Awards, Apex Awards, Art Directors Club, Communication Arts, Industrial Design Society of America, National Endowment for the Humanities, Society for Experiential Graphic Design, Type Directors Club, and the Webbys. He is a National Design Award Finalist and a two-time winner of the AAM MUSE Awards. Jonathan served two terms as national President of SEGD, the Society for Experiential Graphic Design.

Before co-founding C&G Partners, Jonathan was a Principal at Chermayeff & Geismar Inc.

Jonathan graduated from Yale University with honors and distinction in Architecture, magna cum laude. He lives in Brooklyn with his wife and two sons.
