AIGA Design Census 2016
Who knew: interior designers are the happiest design professionals. The least happy? Architects, apparently.

For AIGA and Google’s first annual Design Census 2016, C&G Partners’ Maya Kopytman chose an iconic form to illustrate facts about job satisfaction across 17 different design industries. “By applying census data to the length of a smile, we depict designer satisfaction in various industries,” describes Maya. “ In some industries designers are happier than others, but overall—we’re a happy bunch.”

The Design Census was undertaken to understand the “complex economic, social, and cultural factors shaping the design practice today.” With over 9,500 participants, the aim of the free, open-access Census is to provide real-world information that will aid in the professional development (and happiness) of designers.
