This temporary exhibition, celebrating the 150th Anniversary of the YMCA of Greater New York, was mounted at New York City’s Municipal Art Society. In the reception gallery, vintage photographs depicting some of the organization’s earliest members were arranged within the letterforms Y,M,C,A. In the main gallery, thematic panels illustrated the Y’s diverse locations, programs, facilities, and staff. The centerpiece of the exhibit was based on the organization’s triangular symbol—presenting the Y’s history in three segments, each spanning 50 years. A guessing game revealed the identities of famous Y members.
