The new Anthem Awards, created to recognize “purpose and mission-driven work,” just announced the winners from the shortlist in their inaugural year. All three shortlisted C&G Partners projects won Gold or Silver – across three different categories. Dreams Wall and Memory Koi: A Set of Digital Experiences for Clinical Positive Distraction for the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center won Gold in the Health – Innovation category; People Not Property: Stories of Slavery in the Colonial North for Historic Hudson Valley won Silver in the Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion – Special Projects category; and Art Up Close for the Samuel H. Kress Foundation won Silver in the Education, Art, & Culture – Service category. The Anthem Awards are a new initiative of the Webbys.

Gold Medalist Dreams Wall and Memory Koi: A Set of Digital Experiences for Clinical Positive Distraction is a two-part digital installation consisting of both a welcome wall made of fiber optic wood and a virtual koi pond and sculpture. The Dreams Wall features images inspired by nature in motion that glow directly through the wall’s wood, while Memory Koi is an interactive virtual pond that allows for both passive viewing and interactions such as feeding AI fish. Memory Koi was done in collaboration with Potion.

Silver Medalist People Not Property: Stories of Slavery in the Colonial North  is an interactive documentary and website project that uses responsive design to drive engagement and encourage critical thinking while presenting the neglected narrative of enslaved individuals in the colonial North. The project features both reenactment short-form films based on scholarly research and historic site interpreters and infographic animations of important facts and figures.

Silver Medalist Art Up Close is the Samuel H. Kress Foundation Website. It is an online resource that allows for the public close-up view of over 3,000 works of art from the Kress collection. Website users can zoom in so close on the paintings that they can see individual brushstrokes, paint textures, and the evidence of time. The website also features highly detailed search filters, an interactive timeline of the organization’s history, and grant programs the foundation offers.
